We are delighted to announce that we have chosen to support another fantastic charity, the South Yorkshire MS Therapy Centre each month with a continued donation.
What is MS?
Multiple sclerosis is a life-long neurological condition that affects the central nervous system. The immune system attacks the myelin which is the protective layer around nerve fibres causing inflammation and lesions. This in turns creates difficulty for the brain to send signals to the rest of the body.
Who are we supporting?
The South Yorkshire MS Therapy Centre is an organisation close to our hearts here at Scott Anson Painters & Decorators Ltd which is why we have proudly chosen to support this amazing charity and the work they do. Their goal is to provide “non-intrusive, drug-free, symptom-management and complementary therapies which are designed to support your health and wellbeing, and to help you to manage your symptoms.”
Our local MS centre is the only place in South Yorkshire to offer an oxygen chamber as an option for treatment. Oxygen chambers are designed to help heal and improve injuries and some diseases/disorders through offering full oxygen exposure that stimulates the steam cell to release from the bone marrow.
What treatments are available at the centre?
The South Yorkshire MS Therapy Centre also have the following treatments available; physiotherapy, osteopathy, acupuncture, complimentary therapies IMRS, counselling, an exercise room, foot care and hypnotherapy.
The centre is completely funded by donations and the staff are supported by a team of enthusiastic volunteers. The therapy centre isn’t just for people who need treatments and therapies, it is open to all who wish to visit the shop, have refreshments, speak to the volunteers, and simply enjoy the centre and all it has to offer.
Ways to support the South Yorkshire MS Therapy Centre:
You too could support the South Yorkshire MS Therapy Centre through small donations, partnering your company with them, volunteering, sponsoring events, becoming a member, simple fundraising with raffles/tombola’s and by visiting their charity shop and Ebay shop online.
